Two teams of junior chefs battled for the best Maggi meal on Monday, August 27. The competition required preparing a meal which contained protein, carbohydrates and vegetables, and of course a Maggi product, for four people in thirty minutes.

Establishing a unique space in the heart of a community is one of the most fundamental acts of bringing heaven into our world. A place where God’s people can unite to pray, mourn, celebrate, ask, dream and seek God. Ever since the dawn of time, this activity has been seen as an expression of seeking God.

The Year 7 Mathex teams enjoyed solving tricky maths word problems on August 23. There were 2 teams made up of 4 participants. In team A there was Samuel Hong, Alicia McGivern, Sophie Cranwell and Rohan Rodrigues. They scored 40 points. Team B scored 60 points and was made up of Ben Botting, Lucas Cooper, Avram Taguinod and Antonie Smal. They all enjoyed their time at the competition.

Antonie Smal (7GNS) and Ben Botting (7CLE) show their prizes for coming first in Maths Week’s Amazing Race. They raced around the school, locating six questions and answering them correctly in 12 minutes, a full minute ahead of their closest competitors.

This morning at assembly the College introduced its Star of the Week award. The awards were presented by Mrs Williams, Angelika Bilbao and Sydney Causer.

The Food Technology rooms were a hive of activity this morning as students prepared a range of tasty dishes to go on sale at lunch time.

Logan Fenton (second from right) attended the NZIFBB Professional League Auckland Championships on August 18, winning first place in the Auckland region for the teenage body building category. This qualifies him for the nationals, which will be held at the end of Term 3.

Around 80 of our music students were entertained by the ‘ACE’ brass section from the Auckland Philharmonia who visited the College during period 5 today.

As soon as we could open the envelope with the first question in it, the stadium was filled with the noise of people running and talking. We could feel the ground shaking with a large number of runners sprinting with the answers.

Although some of our teams are still playing in local competitions and vying for the knockout rounds of their respective Winter Tournaments, most of our teams have now finished playing for 2018. Here are some honourable mentions and a snap shot of where other teams placed.
