Te Wiki o te Reo Māori began this morning at Sancta Maria College with the raising of the Māori Language Commission ‘Ake Ake Ake’ flag, followed by our kura joining together at 12pm for Te Wā Tuku Reo Māori – Māori Language Moment. Together we commemorated the 1972 Māori Language Petition and followed in Bishop Pompallier’s footsteps by praying ‘Ko te Āwe e Maria’ and singing ‘Mō Maria’ together. Ngā mihi nui to our whānau who joined us today, we warmly invite whānau to join us again for 1.30pm Mass on Wednesday at St Luke’s as we continue to celebrate and uplift te reo Māori together.
