Biology students explore the museum

The Year 13 Biology students ventured to the Auckland Museum for the day where they had the opportunity to track their human ancestry and research the evolution of many of New Zealand’s native birds.

Students attended two lectures, one on speciation and the other about human evolution, both of which were informative and will no doubt be useful for the NCEA examinations. The lectures were interactive and students had the opportunity to examine different specimens collected by the museum. From bird wings to skulls, eggs to stone tools, gaining an insight into the past proved to be a valuable experience for all.
