Only five months into her weightlifting career, Year 10 student Brooke Gallagher is already moving up the national secondary school rankings.
Brooke went to The Upper Hutt Weightlifting Club in Wellington for the recent secondary school tournament week to represent Sancta Maria College in weightlifting. In her first big competition Brooke achieved two personal bests, lifting 56kg in the clean and jerk and 43kg in the snatch, coming second in her Under 15 division.
