Twenty four of our classical players took part in the Play In South session with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra at the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau. Our players – ranging from Years 7 to 13 and filling roles in all four sections of the orchestra (strings, percussion, woodwind and brass) – linked with the APO’s players and students from Pukekohe High School and Takapuna Intermediate to form an orchestra of well over 100 players.

This Tuesday lunchtime, the library was filled with busy students looking for the hidden clues in our Christmas themed Library Scavenger Hunt. Searching among the shelves of the school library, students worked in pairs or by themselves to find hidden clues, solve the puzzle and get the correct answer. Since Vaelei Young was introduced to the sport of hockey it has become one of her passions. Being put into a junior team for the Howick Pakuranga Hockey Club when in Year 3, Vaelei started developing her performance, skills and sportsmanship. Now as a Year 9 student, she has come very far and ‘looks forward to the coming season, next year’.
