Two huge wins for the Year 7 & 8 boys softball team was certainly something to celebrate, as the group put up a spirited effort at the recent South Eastern Zones Softball Tournament at Meadowlands Reserve.
They had an early start and were placed in Group A, going up against schools from across East Auckland including Somerville, Kia Aroha, Bucklands Beach Intermediate, Redoubt North and Pakuranga College.
The boys had a fantastic day, relishing every moment they got to be on the diamond. They played cohesively despite not having been together for very long and managed to get a 12-0 victory over Kia Aroha College and beat Bucklands Beach Intermediate 10-0. Four losses didn’t dampen their day as they fought to get a win over the competition’s powerhouse Somerville, just falling short 2-0.
