It’s Tuesday, it’s 7pm, it’s time for the big language contest

This evening at 7pm students throughout New Zealand and the rest of the world will be sitting at their computers, logging on, and beginning to test their language skills. Challenges in French and Japanese are the first order of the day with students able to migrate to other languages as the competition continues.

Points are awarded for correct answers and as the students’ totals increase they will qualify for bronze, silver or gold status. There are also prizes to be won. This is a challenge well worth taking part in. It will get them in the right frame of mind for the Te Reo contest which begins on September 9. If they have not already done so, students can sign up at:

Language Championships: August 27 – September 3

NZ Te Reo Māori Competition: September 9 – 11
