This week saw the first public outing for our Senior Choir, who were invited to perform for the residents at the local Bruce McLaren Retirement Home.
Our singers, conducted by our Choirmaster Mr Roberson, ran through their set of three songs that they are preparing for The Big Sing school choir competition in June, so this was a valuable opportunity to earn some experience as live performers.
The set was augmented by choristers Audrie Mamaradlo, Maris Balili and Anna Nguyen giving another fine rendition of ‘Travellin’ Soldier’ (performed in last term’s country music competition), but the final show stopper was left to Van Joseph Belinario, who gave a stirring rendition of ‘O Sole Mio’.
We must thank Topsy Reynolds at the home, who invited us to perform. She passed on to us many compliments from the residents, one of which read, “All their practice has certainly paid off – an excellent choir and concert.”
We look forward to performing there again very soon.
