In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the publication of the infamous character of the ‘Where’s Wally?’ books, the third day of Sancta Maria’s Library Week was a ‘Where’s Wally?’ Scavenger Hunt.
As students entered the library during their lunch break, right next to the library’s entrance was the conspicuous booth for the activity. From this booth, students were to pick a piece of paper from the box which would have the name of a book that could be found in the library. You would then have to go look for the book and try to find the hidden Wally printout in it.
As students rushed frantically to try and find 4 Wally’s in 4 different books, all of their diligence was, in the end, rewarded. For those who had managed to scavenge 4 Wally’s and had 4 approved stamps from Mrs Dickson, one of our College librarians, the students were given the treat of a ‘Where’s Wally?’ sticker and a balloon.
Many found the adventurous activity to be enjoyable, especially the younger students of the College, “It was really fun to do, I liked the stickers and balloons.”
Most even added that they would be interested in the activity again, “I would definitely do it next year, it wasn’t that hard to do.”
Obviously another very successful Library Week activity.
