The Year 10s departed from SMC for Ngaruawahia on Tuesday, leaving all the stress and worries of school behind.
They have been busily running around orienteering, kayaking and racing around the campsite. Each day a group of students gets to spend the day at Castle Rock, exploring the mountains by abseiling and rock climbing as well as riding a 200m flying fox.
However, camp isn’t all fun and games as there are responsibilities each student has, such as dishwashing and setting up tables for meals.
As the sun sets the Year 10s gather in the common room to wind down by doing such things as watching a movie or playing pool and table tennis.
Overall this camp has been a great chance to develop friendships and overcome fears. The Year 10s are looking forward to their last two days at camp before they have to return to school.
