V8 Supercars show learning in action

Students from Year 9 and 10 had the trip of their life by going to Pukekohe for the annual V8 Supercars to see racers go against each other for glory.

It was an incredible opportunity for the students to see how the things they learn at school can be applied to life on the race track, seeing experiential applications of maths, physical education, tourism, marketing, event management, media studies and engineering in action at the event.

Enjoying other activities such as bouncy houses, face painting and various fun events was a bonus.

Watching fellow students going through bouncy houses and getting their face painted was just so much fun. However, for me, being there was such a privilege, because I want to study engineering in the future and hope I’ve learnt a lot from going to the race track.
