Last week 9 GNS, CLE, DNN and BRN participated in the Fructose test run by Ms Webber from Auckland University and Dr Laux. Eleni Motuliki, one of our talented music students, took part in the SINGout4JUSTICE song writing competition organized by Caritas New Zealand. Her composition ‘Love in our Hearts’ won a top five award. ‘Don’t look any further’, by Jenna Aspeling and Minju Kim was also placed in the top five by the judges. The theme was “love more, be more” and Eleni’s song was based on the situation where people are complaining about their own situation and not really thinking about the way other people might be living.
At assembly last week Martina Kleis spoke about the difference her mother has made to the education of students in Samoa by using her connections with our College and the wider community. Her mother’s awareness of what is happening in the world and solidarity with those less fortunate gave us an insight into Catholic Social Justice in action.

Emma Sullivan of the Sancta Maria College class of 2015 came to visit the College today as she is on the Organising Committee of the Auckland Diocese World Youth Day Celebrations. Sancta Maria College will be hosting hundreds of Catholic youth on Saturday the 14 July for the Southern and Eastern regional festival, followed by the whole diocese celebrations in the city on Sunday.
