“Get out, and do some activities and find a sport that you like” was Year 8 student Tyler Halliday’s message to all those kids who spent their holidays on the couch or on their devices.

Thursday night saw various students showcase their musical talents to share with family and friends in a range of different music ensembles. From our Jazz Combos to the classical styles of the Orchestra, everyone had an awesome time performing and listening to a range of different music.

The last day of Sancta Maria College’s ‘Library Week’ ended with an exhilarating game of ‘Amazing Race’.

The region of Fraser Coast, Queensland, Australia welcomed over 3500 players, nearly 10,000 passionate spectators and 250 referees for its touch rugby Junior State Cup. It is a three day event that is known as the greatest spectacle on their sporting calendar.

All this week we have been running a Scholastic book fair as part of library week. It’s not finished yet but so far we’ve sold over $1000 of books, which will give us lots of rewards points with which to buy resources for the library.

Berlin Mangu is an incredibly talented hip-hop dancer who last week was the recipient of the prestigious Sir Peter Blake Leadership award.

As part of Engineering week a group of Year 12 students visited Demspey Wood with teacher Mr George McKie.

In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the publication of the infamous character of the ‘Where’s Wally?’ books, the third day of Sancta Maria’s Library Week was a ‘Where’s Wally?’ Scavenger Hunt.

This week the College is hosting teachers and students from Shanghai. They have travelled to visit our school and experience the New Zealand education system while staying here.

A team of six girls from Year 9 and 10 headed out with Mrs Croxford in the school van, our mission – to compete at the Auckland Secondary Schools’ Competition for rhythmic gymnastics.
