During Period 2 on Tuesday the Year 9s got to see a wonderful performance by the SMASHED team. They taught us all about the dangers of underage drinking and the effects of it. The team acted out a scenario for us as well, so we got to see the situation and learn how to deal with it.

Members of the ‘Over the Rainbow Paper Cup Project’ were witness to something quite amazing. On the morning of Friday May 3, a chrysalis attached to a kale leaf was brought in from a vegetable garden. A Year 9 had predicted that the chrysalis would hatch into a Monarch Butterfly 11 days later, and how right they were. ‘Flutter By’ was seen drying her wings as she emerged from the chrysalis on Tuesday, May 14.

In very difficult and windy conditions the coaches devised a game plan to suit the weather pattern which meant that open running rugby was not the best option. The boys kept the ball close amongst the forwards into the wind in the 1st half for our 1st XV game on Saturday against Tangaroa College.
