Primo Ensemble bring home a bronze award

In their first competitive musical outing, our Primo Ensemble (which comprises of Year 7 and 8 music students, most of whom have only started learning their instruments this year) performed at the Lewis Eady Junior Music Contest, which was held at Ponsonby Primary School.

Our players were among 24 entrants from primary and intermediate schools from all over Auckland. Their performance of the Largo from Vivaldi’s Concerto in D for guitar was very well received by the full house and the judges, who awarded them a bronze award for their efforts.

This caps a busy year for our Primo Ensemble, who have also performed earlier this year at our fundraising concert and also at the Play In South concert with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

There is plenty more to come from our youngest players and we look forward to seeing them progress in their musical endeavours.
